The crepe shawl (draft #829) is now off the loom, washed, dried, and had a light steaming (the steam iron hovering over the cloth, not pressing). The hand of the Zephyr wool/silk is luscious. This crepe looks almost like a waffle weave. Lots of hills and valleys. The hem is double weave, with the raw edges tucked inside. I like the look, instead of fringe for a change, and I may incorporate more double weave areas in the next shawl. Meanwhile, here are some pics. First pic shows the reverse of the cloth as it was woven.
Here you can see the reverse on the right and the face on the left. The reverse has longer warp floats, and allows the colors in the warp to show up well.
