Lark's Heads

Or should it be larks' heads? Help me out here. 

No matter—after a very long morning, I finished tying on a new warp. The lark's heads knots are quick and convenient at this stage. Each bunch of warp can be individually tensioned.

I love the name of this knot. I wonder how it ever originated. Maybe if I'd ever seen an actual lark, I would know.

At any rate, I think I deserve a reward. I'm off to Trader Joe's for some chocolate.
