The finished weaving of the lacecap hydrangea has sat on the loom for a month or so, percolating. Today, after weaving some new samples, I cut it off. I think I will weave it again, substituting a dusty blue for the olive green and a pale lavender for the yellow. The orange will remain the same.
On the left you can see the samples. The bright orange spotted background will now be a light blue and allow the other shapes to come forward, which is the effect I originally wanted.
I had to weave a few aspect ratio samples, too, as the blue yarn is unmercerized and the green was mercerized. It makes a slight difference in how they beat in. So I stretched the file about 5% in length. Vive Photoshop!
