The latest batch of book covers, after the acrylic medium (aka glue) has dried, and the shapes are cut out:
Next step is glueing leather spines inside for extra security:
And then the folded signatures are sewn in with waxed linen twine. Here is the first one completed, front view:
The position of the birds worked out just as I had planned, and so has the curved design on the flap.

And here is the spine, plain vanilla, but I didn't want it to compete with the other elements.
And you might notice just a hint of red in the wrapping cord, as a reference to the birds.
