Switching back and forth between dobby and jacquard loom is a useful exercise when examining a new (new to me, that is) weave structure. I use the same Pattern Presets for both. A great deal of time is saved! For more info about Pattern Presets, refer to The Woven Pixel and The Liftplan Connection; see sidebar.
Here's today's brocade sample on the jacquard loom. The ground weave is plain weave (black warp and weft), and the two brocade wefts (red and orange) are based on an 8-end satin. That ensures the tie-down ends are distributed over repeats of 8 ends; all the warps take their turns at being tie-downs, not just some of them. No second warp beam required. Click to enlarge.
