Every once in a while I find something really useful on my iPad, and I can truly tell all my friends and family that I am working, not playing. The other day I loaded the app Procreate on the iPad, and it is amazing! It's a painting app that works in layers, very much like Photoshop. The interface is very clean, and there are lots of intuitive gestures for drawing, erasing, resizing, etc. The brushes work fluidly, and the marks are so beautiful, with tapered ends and variable thickness. You can switch layer order, alter transparency of layers, turn layers on and off. The best part is that you can save your work to Dropbox as a layered Photoshop psd file, then work on it some more on another computer in the full Photoshop. That's what I did this morning. In one hour I had produced today's journal entry, including the design time and weaving time (add a little extra for winding bobbins).
Here it is on the loom, followed by a detail.
