The striped warp is now beamed, double style. There was a cross at both ends of the warp. I tied both halves onto an existing warp in front of the reed, brought all the knots through the reed and the heddles, and beamed the whole thing on. Not a good thing to do with long warps, but for this short one (6 yards before doubling, 3 yards after) it was fine. Here's what it looked like behind the heddles, after the beaming:

Some details—warp and weft are both 5/2 mercerized cotton @ 20 epi and ppi. Hems are plain weave with 10/2 cotton. I used a temple (Finnish style metal temple) and floating selvedges, because the edges were very irregular in the crepe weave. And as you know by now, this will look entirely different after it's washed & dried!
