Did you ever see a puddle of dishtowels? Here's one. I just cut these off the loom and while waiting for the washing machine, they begged a photo.
There's a funny alteration going on here (as in funny/unusual). Before cutting the towels off the loom, I glued and taped the end of the weaving to secure it…
This is part of my new plan of never ever again rethreading this loom, just tyeing on new warps to old behind the heddles (to save my back). However, I wanted to add an additional threading repeat of straight draw on either side of this warp, to widen the cloth from approximately 16" to 18". Toward that goal, I wound two mini warps of 40 ends each…
…and inserted a lease stick in the plain weave sheds, behind the heddles, then added the two new mini-warp chains on either side…
…and if all goes well, I'll thread and sley an additional repeat on either side, secure it to the breast beam in front, then cut off the whole megillah near the warp beam (because this warp is nearly at its end), then beam a new warp, tie it to the old warp, and maybe in less time than it took to tell you about it, I'll be weaving again. That's the plan.
