This piece had to be padded and wrapped on a canvas stretcher, and a protective sleeve sewn onto the back to hide the raw ends. This all took longer than the actual weaving! But it has a nice, finished look. Unfortunately you can't peek at the wrong side, one of my favorite entertainments. Oh, well. Done.
You may recall that Fingerlings was designed on the iPad, exported as a psd file, and the weaves assigned via Pattern Presets in Photoshop. It's a mixture of various granite weaves and a weft-backed satin. Click to enlarge.
