To continue what I was saying about combining straight and satin threadings to make granite variations: here are 8-thread blocks and 24-thread blocks of the same threadings, with same tieup. In the draft with the 8-thread blocks, you almost don't read the blocks; it looks like an allover pattern. With more repeats, the granite and twill blocks emerge.
