Back in January I ordered a large amount of Stonehenge paper from Talas for bookmaking. I didn't want to leave it rolled up in the mailing tube too long, because it would assume a distinct curl, difficult to undo. The 30x44" sheets were too large to store on shelves in my studio. I tore the sheets into quarters and stacked them on my work table, where they remained for the next three months.
Fast forward to now, when I need my worktable space. So I attacked the paper again, and proceeded with the teardown. When I have all the paper reduced to textblocks, I'll be able to stack the blocks in a plastic bin and put them away, safe from dust, until the bookmaking frenzy strikes again.
Here's where we are so far:
If you click on the image to enlarge it, you'll be able to see the wonderful torn edges with their little fuzzy teeth. I took this photo with my new diopters. Still learning how to use them. Very small depth of field! A tripod would have been a great improvement, but I just couldn't wait. Next time, I promise.
