A nice neighbor has planted pink and white peonies beside a drainage culvert in front of his house. I have been enjoying them the past few days on my walks.
It's odd (or maybe not) that this peony made me think of a Napa Cabbage I had sliced for dinner the other day. The pattern in the transverse slice was so striking that I immediately put it on the scanner bed.
Color and scale notwithstanding (the cabbage is magnified about 12x), the patterns are strikingly similar.
This would be a good candidate for a veggie weaving (click to enlarge). Eight-end satin, seven shades of gray. Soon.
