I've been wanting to weave some lampas pieces that are not quite as heavy as others I've recently done. Just two pattern wefts instead of three. And perhaps different pattern/ground ratios. I devised a new sample blanket for several weaves from The Woven Pixel (see '"books" in sidebar). The top row features 1/2 pattern ground ratios, and the bottom row 1/3. The warp is all black, so the only thing that differentiates the two layers is structure. The background weave on this blanket is 9-end satin, which I may use for selvedges. the wefts are pale lavender for the ground weft, and natural hemp and beige rayon for the two pattern wefts. So far so good.
In the Department of Morning Walks, it appears to be an early Halloween in my neighborhood. The bushes are festooned with little ghosts. I thought this one was the nicest. It has good drape.
