It's a pleasant occupation to sit around and hand hem dishtowels while chatting with friends and family. Here are the two latest.
Both are on a yellow warp on a 40-shaft AVL. The one on the left, with lime green weft, features blocks of four different 10-end granite weaves.
The towel with orange weft, in 5-end satin damask, has a Repper-designed body, Photoshop-designed border, and a doubleweave hem.
While my dobby loom is temporarily out of commission, I did want to proceed with some network drafting samples. Though the magic of Photoshop and weaving software, I copied the cloth diagram into a new file and was able to send this to the TC-1, thus enabling the jacquard loom to pretend to be a dobby. It's like killing a flea with a sledgehammer, but whatever works…
This is a combination of two 16-shaft drafts plus a separate selvedge threading.
There are looms all over the house. The Wolf Pup lives in the foyer, which collects late afternoon light in the winter months. For an hour every afternoon most of the hallway and foyer catch these rays from the bedroom window. It's a very dramatic scene, although not the best illumination for weaving.
