The blue warp, advancing reliably for a few weeks, no errors in sight, is now at the point where it must be declared finished.
I've cut the fabric off, serged the edges, washed & dried it, and removed all the thrums from the loom. Not surprisingly, this is what I found under the loom: blue dust bunnies!
I believe they're close relatives of the stuff I find in the lint trap of my drier.
This one started out as a 40x40 satin, counter of 13. It has a very strong shallow twill line.
I wondered how it would look if the draft were rotated 90°, making the twill line steep.
Done! I could also flip it to make the twill line slant to the right. That's next.
This one ought to collapse into deep ridges after washing. That's the plan.
What do we do when it snows in South Carolina? We weave, of course. I finished 3+ yards of granite weave on the 8-shaft loom and it went straight into the washer & drier. It is so nice and pebbly. Here's a scan. Click to enlarge.

In pursuit of a sour rye bread. This morning my starter looks like this.
Reminds me of a beautiful warp, just before I begin weaving on it. So perfect in every way and the weaving itself is a letdown. Well, there is no way the bread will be any more beautiful than it is at this moment.
The long-neglected project on the Baby Wolf was finally finished yesterday. It's black handspun warp with assorted handspuns as weft stripes. Simple 2/2 twill; with each color change in the weft, I reversed the direction of the twill line. I picked colors as I went along, with no particular plan in mind. I've done a number of these over the years, and they're always different and always fun weaving.

Now that I'm home and grateful that my airline travel plans weren't affected by the snowstorm up north, I can enjoy circles again.
