Just cut off three shawls from the 8-shaft loom. These were network drafting with an echo in the threading; the warp was two shades of Tencel and the weft was cotton for two of them and wool for the third. All three went into the washing machine for a full cycle. I was distracted and in a hurry. I needn't tell you what happened to the one with the wool weft. How many of these dumb mistakes can one weaver make in a lifetime? Don't all answer at once.
One of the shawls was woven with two shades of green cotton wound together on the bobbin, and the effect shows quite a bit of iridescence in combination with the red and pink warp. The overall effect is a rich brown with glints of sunlight, sort of a camo vibe. This shawl would be good to wear to an Earth Day celebration.
