It's that time of year, and some baseballs just come to the end of their normal lifespan. I saw this one lying by the side of the road when I took my morning walk. The reason I love this picture is that it perfectly illustrates the baseball stitch. I use baseball stitch to join sections of fabric together for blankets, as many weavers do. Now, my friends, can there be any doubt as to how this stitch got its name?
Whenever my walk is early enough (or late enough) in the day, the shadows are extra long. Here's a good catch:
