...and we also switch colors in our shuttles. One secondary weft at a time, but periodically swapping out bobbins. Primary cloth is plain weave, secondary is broken 1/3 twill. It's a PITA to weave, so I won't be doing much of this. Here's a closer look:
But if I take the same profile and use just one shuttle for each cloth layer, it goes much faster. I've changed the weaves a little, too. Primary is 2/2 straight right twill, secondary is 1/3 straight left twill. For the primary weft I used peach soy silk, and for the secondary several strands of crimson silk. I think lampas was made for silk. The reflective quality of this cloth is amazing. And it feels heavenly.
