The recent spate of weaving has left my body crying for mercy. Therefore no weaving for a while. But warping is another matter; this morning I wound a new warp for the 8-shaft loom. These chains will sit quietly in their plastic bin until a more auspicious time.
I just finished reading The Sea by John Banville. Although some might find the subject matter depressing, I found this short novel an interesting and elegantly crafted meditation on issues of self-worth and the creative spirit. Fine descriptive prose with flashes of subtle humor; if you like novels with a plot and tidy ending, skip this one.
