Working at my larger looms is difficult at the moment but I'm happily becoming reacquainted with my rigid heddle loom. There is an interesting article by Dana Lutz in the Summer issue of Little Looms. Dana shows how she works with supplementary warps on the RH loom, so I thought I'd give it a try.
All my yarns in this project are handspun. The base warp and weft are a mixture of camel and silk, and the supplementary warp is merino and silk. The base warp is wound on the warp beam, and the supplementary warp hangs off the back of the loom and is weighted. I'm using a pickup stick for the patterning. Click to enlarge.
I'm thinking that after this is off the loom and washed, the textures will really pop.
